Hydro-Power station
Although GAP Engineering never realised an electrical central automation, they has been choosen by Leteygeon SA to modernise the 4.5 MW electrical power station of Sauterot.

Putting into service in 1977, the power station required  a complete revision of the turbine and the generator and the modernisation of the automation and telewatch system. GAP Engineering has been choosen for this work, due to the specialization in the field of industrial automation and certified Siemens Solution Partner Automation.

Saving in efficiency
The initial situation was complex because the challenge was to match technologies from the origin of the power station with actual technologies in order to simplify the work of the employees. In fact, the programmable’s automatons Simatic S7-300 from Siemens Automation and Drives have permitted the connection with the instrumentation and the useful information are now transmitted by optical fibers until the control’s centres.

A great care has been given to the display of the measurement’s values on tactile screens to allow the retransmission of pictures closed to reality. The reading of information and alert is therefore easily  facilitated and the errors strongly reduced.

If the Sauterot electrical’s central has now a well-fitted installation, the renovation’s project is not yet achieved. A second step will consist in automation of the main water point and a secondary harnessing.
