GAP Engineering has been set up in October 2000 by Gilles Mabillard, Alfio Schillaci and Patrick Salvy. Both active people, Patrick Salvy and Gilles Mabillard, have a lot of experience in industrial automation in the field of metallurgy and chemistery. The main customer in the years 2000 is ALCAN Aluminium Valais.
In 2003, the structure of the society changes with four active people working at 100% instead of two. Alfio Schillaci is in charge of administration, prospection and commercial business and Christian Briguet comes to strengthen us in the development group.
Christian Briguet has also a big experience in industrial automation, especially in the field of aluminium casting machines (foundry). The activities are growing and GAP also becomes active in the field of foundry and assembling machines. GAP’s customers are not only located in the nears, but have projects in Germany, Great Britain, Austria, Italy, Netherland, Polen, Mexico and Greece.
From 2005 to 2011, the volume of business is still increasing and the society grows in a constant and continous way.
In January 2011 Gap Engineering SA takes over the activities of Rihs Engineering AG (Ltd).
Rihs Engineering SA is a mechanical engineering company which has a great deal of experience in machine construction in the foundry domain, and particularly in constructing machines to cast aluminium.
Rihs Engineering, was founded in 1985 in Belp, Switzerland, and has for many years been a supplier of mechanical engineering to Alusuisse, Algroup and Alcan.
At present Rihs’ activities have joined those of GAP in Sierre, under the responsibility of Julien Valloton.
GAP Engineering and Rihs Engineering are actually working with 9 people
The fields of activity and the know-how have diversified more and more.
